In 2000, I had the opportunity to do contractual work within a division of the Canam Group. A few months later, I was offered the position of Draft Clerk for another division. I joined the Goodco Z-Tech team as a receptionist in 2007, and I am currently employed as a Buyer. There is clearly a great deal of potential for advancement and change.
My duties involve buying the necessary parts at the lowest price for the manufacture of various Goodco Z-Tech products. I must also consider shop drawings and the production and delivery schedule for a multitude of projects. The work involves very little routine and a great deal of rigour. I am required to take on stimulating logistical and negotiating challenges while developing business relationships with a number of external suppliers without neglecting the needs of various internal departments.
I enjoy working with a dynamic team in an environment where mutual cooperation and good humour reign on a daily basis, even during peak periods. I am also involved in the Company’s social club, which organizes cultural and sporting activities each year and provides us with an opportunity to meet in a friendly, after-work atmosphere that strengthens our bonds as colleagues. | |

I currently hold the position of Bearing Designer/Verifier. With help from the engineers, I design and create technical drawings for the manufacturing of structural bearings. Before being hired at Goodco Z-Tech in 2008, I worked as a bearing and joint designer. After my arrival, I began to learn a great deal from many competent and experienced people. I was promoted in 2009, and put in charge of the Bearing Drafting Department. That same year, I also helped implement the SolidWorks drafting software.
I work with a remarkable team of professionals who have spent the last two years restructuring and standardizing the drafting department. I truly appreciate the team spirit I have found here, and I enjoy our collective willingness to take on new challenges.
In addition to offering many advancement possibilities, Goodco Z-Tech continually promotes the improvement and development of its employees through follow-up training initiatives. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge since my arrival, and I enjoy working on stimulating projects. It makes my work interesting, motivating and dynamic. | |

My goals regarding improvement of social comfort led me to a job at Goodco Z-Tech. Here, hundreds of projects are carried out each year in bridge construction and rehabilitation. As a Goodco Z-Tech engineer, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the manufacture and design processes involved in the Company’s products. I have also established a good work relationship with a manager who remains available and attentive, and who has confidence in my capabilities. I am happy to have found my place within a great working environment. Finally, I am proud of the work we accomplish in our efforts to provide high-quality products for our customers, without compromise. | |

I feel motivated to work in a fast-paced company that offers considerable challenges to overcome, and that is precisely what I found working at Goodco Z-Tech, first as Project Coordinator, Estimating and Sales, and more recently as Sales Supervisor.
My work mainly involves analyzing the many calls for tenders that we receive by fax, e-mail or Internet, assessing their relevance, estimating product costs and drafting proposals in the form of submissions for companies who have put in a request. I achieve this by working in close collaboration with various Goodco Z-Tech departments (Engineering, Drafting, Purchasing and Production) in order to provide an offer that meets every project specification and remains achievable within the established deadline. Tremendous attention to detail and rigour are therefore essential when preparing each of our submissions.
What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to find solutions that move projects forward and to work with a multidisciplinary Goodco Z-Tech team that has the ability to respond quickly. I like the integrity that is found at Goodco Z-Tech and the importance it places on not only total customer satisfaction, but also on its employees. | |
